This is absolutely awful. "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

History is full of examples of what happens when governments including their courts act in

the way this government and Supreme Court are acting. Those Republics fail and fall. We are

witnessing the end of the American experiment and dream.

Well said, and evidence of our accelerating decline abounds in each days ‘breaking news’.

But there is a lot of money to be made by the crooks and charlatans on the way down.

Is the love of money, (and the control of others that comes with it), the root of all our evils?

It won’t hold for a generation. It will all collapse in a few years because most Americans don’t want this religio-fascist-oligarchic feudal state wet dream

Thank you Harry, great dissection of the fine points of these cases. I'm very saddened and angry at the 6 so called conservative justices. They're hypocritical and ethically challenged, a disgrace to the profession. The SCOTUS needs total reform and without doubt, term limits (short ones).....

Why is the very idea that a child seeing something that their parents might disagree with so upsetting. Yet, we are bombarded with images that are offensive, degrading daily. Plaintiffs are usually white, evangelical Christians, doing little to actually improve their children's lives.

They are depriving their children of the opportunity to learn how to understand the world around them and people, just as good as them, who are different. They value their cocoons & echo chambers more than knowledge and enlightenment at their children’s & societies expense. Stunting human evolution.

Why is this allowed to continue?

Why are corrupt judges not disbarred?

Also thinking of Pam Bondi, Eileen Cannon in Florida, and Matthew Kacsmaryk in Texas.

I am not a lawyer.

I am thinking it will take prestigious law firms (plural), and money.

The choice is to become like Russia, because that is where we are heading.

We are being played for fools, the only country in the world where heathcare is not a human right. You are scammed day-in and day-out by insurance companies and big pharma. Insurance premiums paid monthly only for you to see Claim Denied. Drug costs that are 2-3 times the cost for the same drug in the next country. It is carnage on the American stage. You accept all that. ?????? https://hotbuttons.substack.com/p/claim-denied?r=3m1bs

Sorry, Harry, but the court does not have a conservative majority. It has a "conservative" majority--there is nothing truly conservative there. Indeed, the majority is reactionary.

And as for Justice Barrett's hostility to Justice Jackson, that is easy to understand, because Justice Jackson is uppity!

We have to stop referring to these kinds of decisions as conservative- they are religious, biased, racist, and even fascist, they are misogynist and very poorly considered. This is not conservatism. This is autocracy.

"The message is unmistakable: if your provider also offers abortions, your healthcare options are expendable."

Added to this should be education and more. We are both longer a country that decides on what is good for the majority of its residents. Instead it decides on what the 6-3 majority of justices believe and further, 5 of them are Catholic, a minority of residents in the US.

You nailed it Harry, in a very powerful way. Last night I went to see Indivisible’s movie Democracy Noir, about Orban and the resistance in Hungary against him. Everyone should go see it! This showing was a fundraising effort by our local chapter of Indivisible. The theatre was packed, with discussion following the film. What’s happening here is nearly identical to what happened in Hungary, including the Woke BS signs everywhere. They packed their Supreme Court and got everything they wanted including a new version of their Constitution. The midterms are a MUST WIN for democrats of both houses of Congress, and win the White House in 2028! If not, we’ll end up like Hungary, where the illegal gerrymandering and cancelling of voters rights has given Orban his 5th win when he really lost BIGLY! The MAGAts here are using that playbook…..

Let this sink in.... Harry said it out loud... "The Court’s conservative majority isn’t merely interpreting the Constitution. It’s reimagining it to reflect its own ideological commitments. It’s a vision of law that narrows who counts, who belongs, and who gets to claim the Constitution’s protection. And it looks likely to hold sway for a generation or more". Amen!!!
