Disbar this wretched lawyer who soiled his professional code by meeting her on Trump's behalf. WE, the people, deserve better! Impeach, disbar, resist and throw these criminals in jail!

Good point. If Blanche appears, from the brief Wikipedia entry, to be a member of the New York bar. He practiced with a large firm in NYC, which suggests that a complaint to the Disciplinary Committee of the First Department would be in order. (He did purchase a house in Florida last year; if he became a member of the bar there and resigned from the New York bar, he's safe--the Florida Bar--which is part of the state government--refused even to look at a detailed complaint against Pam Blondie filed earlier this year by a large group of prominent lawyers and organizations; the signers included two former justices of the Florida Supreme Court.) If Blanche were suspended or disbarred in New York, I don't think he could continue his post in the Injustice Department. But these days, I could easily be wrong.

Passing a bar exam is not exactly a walk in the park. Being admitted to the bar in NY is a pretty significant credential, a real asset for a lawyer. Would Blanche casually give his up? Perhaps if his professional liability was substantial, imminent, and reasonably certain.

What completely escapes me still is how on Earth anyone could consider, under the circumstances Harry notes here, that Maxwell's testimony could have even a scintilla of credibility. And what exactly was Blanche intending to buy with our nation's good will, a statement of exoneration for president pedo from Maxwell, or her silence?

They'd have better luck gathering testimony from the women who were assaulted.

Who's "they"? The "they" mentioned in this substack are proving to be wholly dishonest and don't seem to care about what's true. Those who honestly want truth will have better luck gathering testimony from the women.

I'd expect "they" aren't talking to victims because their narrative would implode. And I agree that dishonesty is their mission. I just wish the victims would be brave enough to speak truth to power.

I don't think MAGA want a scintilla of credibility. They just want someone who is recognised as a major player to say "It wasn't trump!"

Cheryl Thomas's avatar

I think MAGA mostly wants evidence of guilt on the part of well-known Democrats. However, lacking that evidence, I think they'll settle for the (highly questionable) conclusion that "It wasn't Trump".

Hmmm ... I suppose it would probably only matter to the maga minority dependent upon just how any "exoneration" she might offer was presented to them, and by whom.

Even if Maxwell is bribed with a pardon exoneration or commuted sentence by saying trump wasn't involved in any way with Epstein's trafficking, would that even satisfy trump's base/cult? It sure smacks of ignoring all those victims and leaves a nasty precedent for future victims of rapists, pedophiles, and human traffickers. OMG, What has our nation become? No longer do we stand (if we ever had) for honor, integrity, truth, stability, reliability, and the rule of law for 250 years. The Democrats had better get their collective a$$es in gear and start fighting back to keep our democracy.

You say “there is no public evidence that Trump has participated in any criminal activity related to Epstein.” Wondering what you make of the 2016 videotaped statement by “Katie Johnson” describing sexual interactions (including rape) with Trump at Epstein’s home when she was 13 years old? And if this is credible, why is it not getting more public play?

Thanks for mentioning the victims, besides our national Victim Emeritus, of course. Julie K. Brown may know most first hand from Maxwell / Epstein victims. Amazingly you only find her reporting in a few podcasts and her ebook, "Perversion of Justice: The Jeffery Epstein Story" was available - no line to read it! - at my local library.

What I said was; even if Maxwell were bribed with a pardon, exoneration, or commuted sentence that trump wasn't involved with Epstein's trafficking, would that even satisfy trump's base/cult? Do you honestly believe the Epstein files will really be released? Bondi would rather twist herself into a pretzel than disappoint "dear leader". I'll bet that Trumps name is all over those files, otherwise why would the DOJ have so many agents combing thru it looking for trump's name? The fact that the assistant USAG raced to interview Maxwell is a major conflict of interest and suspicious in itself. I think that after that interview with Maxwell when she was moved to a cushy prison, stinks to high heaven. It seems to me that she promised trump something in order to get moved.

It's interesting how the much vaunted legal system, along with the Press in the US, has crumbled in the wake of this sick, cowardly, stupid old bastard. It's almost like they're just mythical creatures that never really existed at all. I think your mythical Constitution needs a serious rewrite as well. To misquote Treebeard, "You have been idle, you have let things slip."

Harry, thank you for putting this out there. This entire dis-Administration needs to be yanked out of our government and out behind bars for the treasonous acts they are commiting in broad daylight. A long with 99.9% of the Republican Congress for enabling all of this crap! We cannot afford another situation in which 80 million people stay home and do nothing! We all need to act! Let's put ALL of our voices together and with one resonating voice, bring this fascist order down!

One of the first things we need to do once we get our government back is make voting mandatory. Don't vote, you get fined. Don't vote twice, double the fine. On down the line. Once that's in place, we start working on educating said voters.

Blanche may have taken an oath but as we saw when Trump said he didn't know if he'd support the Constitution, oaths mean nothing to these lowlife criminals.

Sally Buehne's avatar

To repeat, there should be consequences for public servants who violate their oath, starting with the president. As we all saw, trump just mouthed the words, as if he's on a TV show (which seems to be how he thinks about his role). He never had any intention of honoring that oath.

Same goes for any and all congresspeople who lie with abandon – they need to be called on it every time!

(sigh) a gal can dream . . .

Would someone be able to demand that Blanche disclose what has transpired from the meetings with Maxwell? Democrats need to cry louder and be meaner to stop these criminals and demand total transparency. Don't rest until they do and hold these criminals accountable, especially Dumpster Trash himself. He's the biggest con man there is. Get journalists and the media to make this news loud and clear, so everyone knows about this corrupted administration.

Again, we can't count on regular news sources to expose this breach. We need large billboards spelling out how wrong this is. I know the regime is not counting on Maxwell telling the truth. That's the point! Maybe instead of a No Kings march we need a No Pedophiles in the White House march.
