It was continually mentioned after the 2020 election, with all the challenges to the election results, that this was merely a "practice run" for the GOP. They brought one frivolous, unsubstantiated lawsuit after another, taking careful notes with each one. They have clearly spent the last 4-5 years honing their skills looking for loopholes and technicalities so they might compromise and interfere with future elections. Thankfully most of Trump's lawyers are incompetent; they are more concerned with 'showing loyalty to their king' than they are of following and practicing the actual law. Lucky for us, we have intelligent, competent, and diligent lawyers like Norm Eisen, Katie Phang, Mark Elias, and of course Harry Litman (plus numerous others), who understand what the true practice of law is all about, looking out for the best interest of all American citizens...even those who are too stupid to realize their rights are under attack. I am truly grateful they are unwavering in their fighting the good fight. We all need to help by making sure that the 'less informed' understand what is happening...keep speaking the truth whenever possible...know our Constitution...protest peacefully, and don't be afraid to stand up for what is right. Thank you Mr. Litman and Mr. Bernstein for helping to keep us informed and focused...your hard work is greatly appreciated.

34 Felon while campaigning stated people vote for him, this will be the last election 2024. Yes all these distractions so 34 Felon can further the lie and administer martial law in lieu of elections

Much appreciation for this timely warning, as the midterms are only 14 months hence, and the tRumpers are beavering away to prepare the ground for the ultimate attack on The People's sovereignty. You pointed out several statutes capable of naked violation should the courts be anything other than crystal-clear about unconstitutional use of the military to further authoritarian policy goals.

Superbly written and oh so critical. Many thanks. It is, I'm afraid, not a matter of "if" they took such steps/positions - we all know they WILL. With legal giants like Bondi, of course they will. And then, before the SC, guess what happens? Feels a lot like 1776 around here....might even be snowing

I think Trump plans to use ICE to interfere in elections. ICE is his private military.

The Judge Luttigs we respect need to be more forthright in conversing among their peers in the interest of getting through to the Supreme MAGAs that their bad law is no longer respected and will be overturned as soon as we can impeach the lot. Also, responsible governors need to continue banding together in solidarity over actual law and it's execution.

Neither the Ninth Circuit nor the Supreme Court will decide in Trump's favor, and the funny thing is it's Trump's own fault.

He appointed all of these Federalist Society justices, and they're big on separation of powers and "strict construction." I think the only way Trump can win is to get them to overturn the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878. and that is highly unlikely.

We're probably looking at a 6-3 decision at worst, At best it will be unanimous.

I can't imagine the Ninth Circuit falling for any of the specious arguments raised by trump**'s stable of incompetents. I'd worry more about the Supine Court.

I share your concern about Darth Cheeto's willingness to use any resource to get what he wants. To tell any lie. But I want to say that elections are not federal functions. We don't have one election. We have 50. We are electing electors from the sovereign states. If they would like to do away with that particular function, they can give back the 2020 election along with it.

26th July 2024, trump speaking to "christians".

Trump said: "Christians, get out and vote, just this time. "You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians."

He added: "I love you Christians. I'm a Christian. I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote," Trump said.

The End Of The Line For Fiat Currencies (from Macleod Substack)

The shape of the next financial crisis is now becoming apparent. Rising bond yields, driven by increasing risk in the light of G7 government debt crises in the four major currencies will have the following consequences:

· A collapse in equities, the suddenness of which will be exacerbated by sudden awareness of the knock-on consequences

The BRICS coalition is establishing an alternative to using the dollar as a reserve currency in international trade involving 50 countries This deals a significant blow to the hegemony of the dollar in use of international trade

· Liquidation of malinvestments in the private sector, leading to insolvencies, unemployment, and potential banking distress

· Panicked collateral liquidation of equity stocks by banks as loans become uncovered

· Economic slumps in all the G7, leading to lower tax revenues and higher welfare costs leading to soaring budget deficits, which in turn tightens the bond trap screws

· A doom loop of rising bond yields, interest rates, deficits, collapsing financial collateral values, deepening economic slumps, corporate failures, and banking crises Rinse and repeat, again and again

· Financial and systemic contagion between G7 nations will ensure that none of them escape the collapse, and individual national remedies will be overwhelmed

In a nutshell, the entire system of credit embodied in fiat currencies faces the prospect of a rapid collapse
