Elmo Muck isn't a "visionary." He's a rich punk from South Africa who used his dodgy family's dodgy fortune made in Blood Diamonds and Conflict Germs from the Afrikaner Wars in southern Africa, to BUY the ideas of the people who are the ACTUAL VISIONARIES, then steal the credit. He isn't the "Chief Engineer" of anything, and the behavior discussed in this post is proof he's a fucking moron. He's also an illegal immigrant who never graduated from any school - his "degrees" are phony - who worked illegally while here on a student visa; his citizenship is based on a lie and should be revoked. Then stuff him in one of his tinny toy cars that only work 75% of the time, stick that in one of his rockets, and fire it into the sun.

I didn't read all of that - too long - but I read enough to learn that Elon Musk is every bit the phony grifter that Donald Trump is. In fact, and I wouldn't have thought this possible, he's much worse.

Trump has always been a grifter. And the other grifters are joining him.... they want the racketeering rights he secured over the evangelicals.... They are also patsies who are blinded by scam artists like Copeland, Hinn, Osteen, Swaggart. And these schemes really took off in the early 20th C, with Ms McPherson...

The Big Lie is not that the 2020 election was rigged (and the 2024 somehow not), the real Big Lie is Trump himself. Not a good business man - a failure, in fact - not truthful, not intelligent, not beloved. A petty man whose life is lies and guff and grievances . A man who doesn’t keep his promises and doesn’t pay his bills.

He’s a bully because he’s stupid, literally - vacuous between the ears. It’s evident in his command of English. I thought it was equivalent to a 6th Grader. Linguists have analyzed his public speaking. It’s 4th Grader level.

I'm deaf so I don't actually "listen" to the news but I do read the closed captions. Closed captions are notoriously unreliable and sometimes need to be mentally sorted out in order to make any sense at all. Double Whammy as far as Trump is concerned. (Seminal and Seminole make a regular appearance. Not that Trump uses seminal for anything. Too many syllables, I guess.) End result: A lot of chores get done when he shows up. I have other puzzles to play with than the Trump/CC combo.

I, too, need captions. Fortunately, when Trump speaks captions are unnecessary—when the face appears empty of though, so are the words.

Whew. I think you are right, for the most part, but I see JD Vance waiting like a spider in a corner for the tech-bros to see Trump 25th Amendmeted. The more the factions fight, the weaker Trump appears, and it seems to be part of an underlying plan.

Oh, sorry to point this out, because you are an excellent wordsmith, either have someone proof your pieces, learn to use the space bar, or turn on spell-check! Just sayin'.

Carol Nelson's avatar

I don't think they'll need the 25th Amendment. All they have to do is set him up in the dining room with KFC and a TV, keep him occupied, and give him bills to sign, and they get everything they want. It also makes it so Vance can have a full eight years as president.

Expand full comment
Mackie Cox's avatar

I agree with you. Going through the process of pushing through the 25th amendment takes a lot of time work and effort. Setting him up in the little dining room where he watched the insurrection on January 6, 2020 with all the food he wants sounds like the perfect solutionfor JD Vance.

Musk isn’t a damn “inventor”. He’s not a visionary. He’s a rich, South African apartheid asshole who BOUGHT EXISTING companies. I stg, just like Trump, people reporting on Musk are just defiantly ignoring the truth about what a trash bag he is.

Expand full comment
Stephen Shaiken's avatar

Two points must be emphasized here: 1.) there will be an inevitable clash between Musk's ideology-libertarian, laissez faire except for his government contracts- and Trump, who is a right wing populist who makes impossible promises about lowering inflation, creating jobs, and controlling the culture. Musk opposes tariffs, favors immigration because he knows so many industries need it, and is a bigot. Trump loves tariffs and hates immigrants and is also a bigot. Shared bigotry won't be enough to keep the wheels on the Musk-Trump bus. 2.) Elon Musk is a horse's ass, just a very rich and powerful horse's ass, leaving open the possibility that anything could happen with these two. Most likely, they split not-so-amicably.
