Reprehensible conduct deserves just response. Pam Bondi incarcerated until the wrongfully imprisoned is returned seems most appropriate. https://hotbuttons.substack.com/p/cavalierly-ignore-the-judge-at-your?r=3m1bs

Yes. Pammy is being a perfect little Nazi, isn't she? I despise that frickking woman. She gives the rest of us females a really foul name/rep and she definitely deserves to be "disappeared" into a filthy, horrible gulag.

Absolutely! It is time for the federal courts to stop listening to the barrage of lies and bad faith protestations of the regime and to take action. Homeland Security head Noem should be jailed as well until ALL persons deported without due process are returned to the US.

Put them in contempt, jail them all who are responsible, and hold them until all are returned to the USA. I bet that this will trigger immediate action by those responsible for this disgusting, inhumane and illegal action.

if they do not have the gentleman back by midnight tonight, kidnapping should be charged against all who did this heinous crime all the way up to the top. this certainly was done with the knowledge of the president.

I'll bet making gobs of money by by selling "negotiations" for lifting tariffs will hold his attention. 47 just loves to "win" by humiliating and dominating his opponents. What do you want to bet that one of the requirements will be to buy his crypto crap.

The Orange god is suddenly powerless? Shocking admission. This monster requires human sacrifice, fresh blood: some Texas children, a few foreign students, immigrants. Next up…? Demonstrators shot in the legs? Eminent lawyers, journalists, scientists?

We’re witnessing the ultimate monstrous action by a government: send an innocent person to be tortured and killed, and shrug when called on it.

Message: you don’t even have to be proven to have committed a crime! We can take ANYONE at ANY TIME, and do whatever we want with them…and nobody and nothing can stop us. THIS MEANS YOU!

Fatarae's avatar

Indeed. That's the underlying message. It's hard to comprehend. We've heretofore mostly had recognition of the importance of the Rule of Law. That seems to be behind us now. That reliance on our government to be fair and true is no longer well placed.

Bondi's move toward the Attorney and Attorney's supervisor is another sign of a failed democracy. . The one lone voice of truth was punished and removed from service, sending the strong message to other DOJ attorneys that even disbarment is not enough reason to oppose the administrations lie. Do we know if Bukele was awarded legal custody of the prisoners?

If these DOJ lawyers had any backbone, they would tell their bosses to fuck off and find some other gullible guppy to take the case, cause I will not work for a justice system that asks me to completely lie, all just for retaliation purposes only. Nothing about what the DOJ is doing here is legal

If they were ethical, they would not be working for this administration's DOJ. The main requirement for working for this administration is not knowledge of the job, ethical and honorable reputation. It is rather loyalty to Trump, lies, subterfuge , and deplorable character.

You would think with his cache of dominatrix cabinet members they could handle something as simple as getting one man out of prison in El Salvador? If one could stand so tough and proud in front of it, surely she’s not afraid to go into it????

There are 2 other men, one a beauty stylist, the other a soccer player, who are also being held in that prison. Neither has a criminal record, but the fact they have tattoos depicting crowns, apparently brands them as gang members. Neither is. I’m wondering why they don’t appear to have advocates publicly calling for their release along with Abrego-Garcia.

This must be the most inept administration in the history of the United States.

MM Harris's avatar

I believe they are doing this on purpose and will continue to do so because of the FEAR it puts into possible ICE targets and those who have yet to try crossing our border illegally. They are also doing it so the rest of us will be afraid to openly disagree or push back re anything the administration says or does.

Extradition treaty.

https://www.oas.org/ext/Portals/33/Files/TreatiesB/USA_biltreat_elsal_eng_1.pdf

Legal Basis:

Extradition in El Salvador is governed by the Constitution (articles 28 and 182(3)) and international treaties to which El Salvador is a party.

Document Requirements:

Salvadoran law requires that all documents supporting an extradition request be duly legalized, unless an international treaty specifies otherwise.

Reforms to Criminal Procedure Code:

Recent reforms to the Code of Criminal Procedure stipulate several requirements for granting extraditions, including that the criminal offense must be punishable by a custodial sentence not exceeding the maximum duration permitted under Salvadoran criminal law.

Due Process:

The United States and El Salvador have a treaty of extradition signed in San Salvador on April 18, 1911.

Crimes Covered:

The treaty covers crimes such as murder, attempted murder, rape, abortion, mayhem, bigamy, arson, and the destruction of railroads endangering human life.

Extradition of Salvadoran Nationals:

In July 2000, El Salvador amended its constitution to allow for the extradition of Salvadoran nationals.

Recent Events:

US Deports Alleged Gang Members:

The United States has deported alleged gang members, including MS-13 members and those associated with the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, to El Salvador.

MS-13 Leaders Extradited:

In the past, El Salvador extradited 13 MS-13 gang members to the United States between 2016 and 2020.

US Pressure on El Salvador:

The United States has pressured El Salvador to extradite wanted MS-13 leaders.

Deportations Despite Court Orders:

Some deportations, including those of alleged members of Tren de Aragua, have occurred despite court orders.

Case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia:

A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to return a Maryland man who was mistakenly deported to a prison in El Salvador.

MS-13 Leader Sent to CECOT:

MS-13 leader César Humberto López Larios, alias “Greñas de Stoner”, released in 2020, was transferred to the Center for Confinement of Terrorists (CECOT) on March 16.

US-El Salvador Relations:

The US and El Salvador have a treaty for extradition, and the US has expressed concerns about certain Chinese investments in El Salvador.
