I am really shocked that neither you, Harry, nor George has chosen ANY of the fabulous solos from "Mr. Slowhand" Eric Clapton. My favourite is his solo from Layla.
When we still went to bars at night, (day drinking is fine) just before the band was done for the night, my husband would hold lighters and yell ‘Stairway to Freebird!!’ Also, Whipping Post by The Allman Brothers. Thanks, this was fun in a time where every smile is important!
Unbelievable but 100% correct and in the right order. If anyone has not heard Prince walk on stage with the glitterati of guitar and leave them dumb struck see the induction video.
NB: Carlos is in charge of all the music in the sex scenes of my biopic.
Thanks Harry. George certainly has a list of winners there but watching Prince……I didn’t know I missed his genius until watching this of him. Loved every second of it.
Almost any solo by Stevie Ray Vaughn. Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac on "Oh Well" ; Robin Trower of Procol Harum on "Devil Came From Kansas" ; Stephen Stills of Buffalo Springfield on "Bluebird" ;and on acoustic guitar, take your pick from the incomparable Tommy Emmanuel !
I didn't think I could like him more than I do. Thank you for rockin' the news, Harry!
BTW, if you're not following George on Instagram, you're missing out. He moonlights in his free time (if there is such a thing anymore) as a comedian. Always gives me a good LOL—something in short supply in times like these. Thank you, George and Harry for ALL you do. 💝
Great list, but whaddabout Tom Morello's absolutely blistering and singularly innovative solo during a live performance with Springsteen of 'The Ghost of Tom Joad'? Too mind-blowing to ignore, no? Dare I suggest politics might've played a tiny part in its omission?
Prince was off the charts during “While my guitar gently weeps”.
Yikes. No mention of Carlos Santana
Yes, please show some love for "Flor d'Luna (Moonflower)".

Er, Brian May, Bohemian Rhapsody.
Absurd -- nay, offensive -- that you have not included Keith Richards' main solo on Gimme Shelter. You will be hearing from my lawyers.
🤣
Lots of great guitarists. Let's not forget Jose Feliciano.
Terry Kath, Eric Clapton, Joe Walsh, Johnny Winter, love me some guitar! Just lost an old friend that could play with the best of them.
Thank you for sharing some of your favs!
Ad Jimmy Johnson--sweet Chicago blues; Santana; Allman Bros' Dickey Betts.
Alvin Lee

YES! While My Guitar Gently Weeps- MASTERFUL
Thanks for this. I did not have this version of While
My Guitar Gently Weeps on my ROCK Playlist. Now I do 🔥

The Prince solo is the #1 solo of all time!!!!! Genius!
Harry, thank you for a much needed break from the CA fires and the relentless orange tsunami!
