Mr. Litman, thank you. Please alert everyone who signed that not addressing Trump's "Wizard of Oz," aka Stephen Miller, is a mistake. Trump is an illiterate. These investigations and his speeches are all the brainchild of an ugly little boy who got picked on for being skinny and Jewish. Miller writes the speeches, and Trump muddles his way through them.

If Miller hits the dirt, so will others. All Trump cares about is "Make me look smart, make me look strong." Of course, he's not nor has he ever been--smart or strong. We're waiting for the day when Trump has a meltdown after following yet another Miller recipe. I have a sneaking suspicion Miller may be sweating, and the same goes for Trump's brainless and spineless press secretary.

I do believe the entire regime is imploding. Bad for them. Good for America and the World.

I certainly hope you are correct!

Hope is defined by the growing Resistance thanks to MTN Country. We are reaching people in other nations who, like us, are standing firm against this evil incompetent regime and its unqualified madman’s efforts to gift wrap America as a gift to Russia. 💙🏆💙

Proud of you for signing this letter.

Next time someone asks me what this matter is all about (shockingly few know) I now have it here: "He [Trump] is explicitly targeting two Americans because they exercised their First Amendment rights and criticized him.

Kudos, Harry. As a journalist myself, I appreciate your careful consideration and your ultimate decision.

Thank you for signing this letter.

These are not normal times. mWe are again being called upon to further the dream of our forefathers who wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Declaration of Human Rights, two of the most important documents of our species.

Now is the time for courage.

Who will win out depends on all of us.

Tyranny cannot be appeased. It never works.

Tyranny only wins when we submit.

Solidarity is how we win.

At 73, I remember segregation, discrimination, and brutality just for being born black,

as a woman, I remember the segregation, discrimination, and brutality just for being born a woman,

I remember the damage to so many of our brothers and sisters just because they were born gay. It was called a crime,

In my lifetime we have come a long way and the white supremacist, whether it is the technocrats that feel entitled to wealth and to use the Earths resources for their power and wealth, or the theocrats that want to push misogyny and racism, and they don’t like it.

It is the same fight, do we want to be a country that believes in equal rights for all, or do we believe that there is a caste of superiors who have the right to enslave us in what ever manner they choose?

I urge everyone to watch the 2018 documentary , Rise Up: The Movement that Changed America, to see just how far we have come and how to continue to save this country as a work in progress toward a multiracial pluralistic democracy based on the premise that we are all equal, and deserve equal liberties and protections under the law.

I am 72 and like you I remember segregation, discrimination and the brutality of being born a woman. Unfortunately, I live in a state where there is still disparity against women and if you are a woman of color or and immigrant it's even worse. I left the state where I gained strength against these things and only returned to care for my aging parents. I can remember my mother saying how bold I had become and I needed to tone down or I would cause trouble. I am tired of being silent! I know my brother is often surprised by some of the things that come out of my mouth, but I notice he very rarely disagrees with me. LOL

Just remember the phrase ”good trouble “ from John Lewis. One doesn’t have to be black, an immigrant or a woman to stand up for yourself and others.

Markets are in absolute freefall. The once-roaring bull has transformed into a gutted beast, with the Dow plummeting nearly 1,000 points in a single devastating session and the S&P hemorrhaging 10% of its value in just one month. The dollar, once a global fortress, now sits at a three-year rock-bottom.

Thank you for signing this powerful bipartisan letter. This kind of collaboration shows a united front against the lawless chaos and insanity of the current administration.

It is the typical Trump playbook. Try the case in public via chosen media outlets, presenting epithets and ad hominems instead of evidence, and exacting the punishment before any form of due process has taken place.

The moment has arrived for our federal judiciary to create a new tort: Bad Faith Prosecution (to include investigations announced publicly without probable cause or predicate). Everyone in the decision chain should be an eligible defendant. The plaintiff should be allowed to recover economic and mental distress damages plus attorney's fees. Every defendant should be liable for the full amount awarded. Lawyers who participate should be referred to the Bar Ass'n in the states where they are admitted to practice for sanctions, including disbarment.

Paul Kaufman's avatar

Bondi should have been referred to the Florida bar several times for publicly disparaging judges with no basis; that’s a disciplinary rule violation.

Dorothy's avatar

Bondi should be impeached and disbarred, as should Clarence Thomas.

Gunnar Jensen's avatar

(I’m just catching up, but all these assaults on our country remain open wounds …) Adding to the arrival of a moment prompting need for a “Bad Faith Prosecution”, is a desire (from at least one reader) for resurrecting efforts to establish an international criminal court. The (Putin/Musk) Trump regime has already produced a few candidates who might qualify for seats in the defendants’ paddock.

Thank you for your courage in signing this letter and bringing back to light the immoral retribution driven autocrat we have named president.

Excellent, Harry. These punitive investigations are monstrous. Further, to order the Department of Justice to start any investigation - much less a criminal investigation - without predicate is appalling, illegal and wrong. As a citizen with a functioning brain I will assert that the DOJ has actual crimes to investigate.

complete support for the carefully considered letter.

please reconsider using this slimmed down version of lady justice. Themis/Justitia was and is a full bodied, fully empowered woman. justice has heft

Why is Lady Justice is Blindfolded and holding a Balance when the Supreme Court is siding with a Political Party? Thomas and Alito is obviously doing tRUMPs biding with eyes open to the Party and not the Rule of Law and the Balance is shifted to one side

Has any letter of protest actually landed a blow that counted? It seems even the most articulate I’ve seen had the effect of… nothing at all. But we press on, I know it’s not that simple. But at very least it puts on record exactly what has been going on, maybe as the cautionary tale.
