The greedy have been allowed too much power.

We (the Royal we) have given him power and we have to stop! Voters, Congress, and the “Supreme Court.” Stand up to him! Everybody! Republicans in Congress fear losing Trumps endorsement, and he threatens anyone who’s thinking of voting “against” him. And people in power or entertainers dare not say anything “against” him, even in jest. What can’t stop him. PLUS he is doing bad things to OUR House. The White House belongs to the American people! A ballroom? Paving over the grass in the garden S. T. O. P. H. I. M.

Every day Trump and his congress and his Supreme Court take more steps giving Trump more power. I’m disheartened about it all. Jesus commanded us to love our enemies. I didn’t have any enemies before Trump and then Elon Muskrat almost shut the government down! So they qualify as my enemies.

So I pray for their salvation. And for Trump to gain wisdom and make decisions that edify our country!

You hit the nail on the head. And I’d say that we have all from one degree to another been a little guilty, even if it’s just being complacent and allowing it to happen.

Drifting? I’d say we’re on a fast train to authoritarianism. Speak out while you can! (The latest sign in my front window reads “YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT, BUT I DON’T RECOMMEND IT.”)

I hold hope that popular comedians like Stephan Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel start taking their "show" on the road. We need them to headline our protests! I would love to see them fill arenas with some live shows that can be filmed and broadcast nationwide.

Contrast this with how Gerald Ford reacted to Chevy Chase portraying him as a klutz on SNL. He allowed his press secretary to be a guest host, and he filmed clips that appeared on the episode. Years later Chase was Ford's guest at his presidential library for an exhibition on humor and the presidency.

Call your Senators direct .......direct phone #s in their Washington DC offices start with 202 224-Ext. there is no switchboard to go through! Leave a message or tell staff who answers your request to 'Support the NOPE act (No Political Enemies). Phone calls are what Congress people pay attention to more so than petitions or letters.

"Federal Communications Commission chair Brendan Carr has said openly that Kimmel’s routines—and other anti-Trump commentary—merit “stark FCC reprisal.”

I imagine that Alito, Thomas, and maybe a few other's of Trump's enablers are saying "Finally" to themselves. They've been busy destroying our precedents and this latest overt bullying will be cheered as finally taking the gloves off. Vance is just pouting that he couldn't do what Carr did.

Any critical thinker sees what’s happening every efn day

The only question and conversation any of us should be having is WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT

Our peaceful protests—(which will very soon be deemed unlawful) our calls—‘stern letters’ are not and will not move the needled of a violent domestic terrorist organization aka REPUBLICAN PARTY

Republicans have corrupted every institution beyond functioning yet D’s and WTP insist on playing by the corrupted rules

Not on Judge or Republican—the only ppl w/any power—are courageous enough Or Willing to take Unprecedented Actions these Unprecedented Times demand

That the courts are holding is a fckng fever dream!

We’re all trying to play by the rules and laws to fight a **LAWLESS - Anti-Constitution — Anti-Democracy VIOLENT Russian backed cabal

Wake up America

As Beto said: WHO CARES ABOUT THE FUCKING RULES NOW, PUNCH BACK!

Or are we really just getting comfortable sitting on the sidelines singling “ain’t it awful” as we dly watch the destruction?🤔

Dennis luther's avatar

You people wouldn't know a peaceful protest if it crawled up your ass. So cut the crap!

"The real danger is not that one comedian lost his job, but that the rest of us learn the lesson: don’t cross the president. That lesson will spread—through boardrooms, newsrooms, and even living rooms—until self-censorship becomes second nature." I've been waiting for an astute and courageous observer like Harry Litman to point this out. I traveled in Russia within the past decade with a small U.S. tour group coordinated with Russian counterparts. We had two Russian guides with us every day, escorting us to a variety of locations that were not entirely "touristy." However, unless a group dinner or event was planned, we were on our own in the evenings, memorably choosing our own restaurants or shopping along "downtown" streets in St. Petersburg. We mingled with Russians on the sidewalks engaged in various social activities. We were quietly vigilant nevertheless, looking for things that seemed amiss, but we didn't encounter any that were obvious. It felt to us like a cosmopolitan European city. When we were inquisitive of our guides, we found they were practiced in evading our most pointed questions with a smile. As one guide eventually told us matter-of-factly, if you meet a friend or acquaintance on the street and she asks how you've been, the only answer is some version of, "All is well." She even taught our van full of Americans how to give that rote response in Russian. No citizen of St. Petersburg living an apparently normal life would dare risk saying anything to anyone that could be interpreted as complaining about the government or criticizing Putin lest it be reported to authorities. Even long-time friends no longer dared trust each other. That is what self-censorship feels like. That is how deep it runs, and how pervasive it is, in an authoritarian dictatorship.

You have a criminal president, who is surrounded by unctuous toadies & sychophants. There is only one way out of this; organise, register & hit them with an almighty electoral tsunami in the mid-terms.

Cheeto And Destruction Of The Middle Class

Cheeto and his Nazi allies know that WE the People will carry the day So one of the prominent overarching Nazi strategies is to weaken the middle class

What does that look like? Primarily it’s the inflation game If you make it hard for the average American to make a living, the pressure becomes overwhelming and damaging Instead of 1 job, one needs to take on 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet No time for vacations, no time for time off, just bruising through with no end in sight This leads to an electorate that can’t pay attention to what’s happening politically and is so stressed due to inflation that voting becomes secondary or unimportant at all

This is why Cheeto is pushing all the country’s wealth away from the middle class and to the top 10% of the electorate which will reward him with support in political campaigns And this is why Cheeto wants to emphatically lower interest rates because this will cause inflation to go even higher

Inflation is the name of the game for Cheeto because it will create a politically disabled middle class and create a wealthy dominant oligarchic ruling class

Haha. It’s bad yes. But we cannot blame Trump. He’s only taking advantage manipulated and stretch to the extreme would be. We’ve been allowing to go on for over 50 years. We allowed our democracy to crumbles so much and allowed our country to become corporately and billionaire run to work. Trump just stepped in to the bruised banana and smooshed it.
