I think the searching of the Fulton County election data is a very, very big deal. Outside of right wing extremists living in caves served only by FOX News, no one thinks the 2020 elections were unfair and no-one thinks the Chinese manipulated Italian computer systems, and no one believes that Trump's DOJ and Trump's DNI will come anywhere within range of a fair and impartial audit. Tulsi Gabbard is as highly regarded and trusted as Kash Patel. 'nough said.
Harry - you're the best articulator of legal analysis I've come across. I'm a UK citizen following the chaos perpetrated by the US government with interest and alarm. I'm sure the pendulum will swing back at some stage, but the damage Trump has done and will continue to do for many months (years?) to come is incalculable. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the support from abroad! As an American I don't think the damage will ever be undone...much will, but not all. While America is moving backwards in every area the rest of the world is moving forward and even with a return to honest and decency much of that will not be reversed. I can't see any nations suddenly reversing their decisions to find other trade partners if Democrats come back in power, at least not for a few generations...why would anyone think this would not happen again? We are driving away intelligent persons, both American citizens and those who used to want to come here, and in this economy a workforce needs to be creative and smart. The Republican party has done so much damage to our education system if we changed tomorrow it would take 12 to 25 years to get back on par with other nations. One of our former "exports", consumer buying has been so damaged by both easy credit and now folks relying on credit for everyday things that we are so far in debt as individuals that we may not be able to put much more on our credit cards, so we can't be the avid consumers we used to be. In spite of all that I sure hope we can someday return to being a nation that respects civil rights of all and actually cares about others. But you and all of Europe and all of the world need to stay strong and do not capitulate to trump!
Thanks especially for "the most frequent comment we heard was that people especially value the written essays." Too many of the Substackers I follow (or try to follow) are emphasizing video. They don't seem to realize that most of their subscribers have jobs and/or lives and can't listen to six or eight or ten hour-long videos in the course of a day. At least some of them provide transcripts, which are usually rudimentary but better than nothing. I do get the appeal (and the egoboo) of having a "live" audience, but please have mercy on those of us who can't or don't want to devote many hours a day to keeping up with news and commentary.
I'd be interested in knowing if there's some Substack official or unofficial "push" in this direction, and whether there are benefits for going along (or downsides to resisting).
I find it necessary to print emails/written essays so that I can read them wherever I happen to be. Rarely manage to sit at the computer the amount of time it takes to either read or view all the material I receive. Will definitely miss Harry's written word if most of it is video.
Second comment below about Fulton County election data!.
I also heard this morning that one of the women who was documenting in Minneapolis was photographed at close range by an ICE goon, who then said something about finding her with facial recognition software. Within hours she got notice that her TSA precheck and Global Entry had been canceled. I've been expecting something like this to start ever since DOGE (remember them? seems like centuries ago) stole all our personal data. so now they're going to use it. What recourse do we have?
To my knowledge none! They have gone around federal law (as I heard it) to purchase with their billions (thanks Katie Britt 😡 software that permits tracking all people at all times and built a database that we’re not supposed to know about. They’ve acquired much of our information by buying ad info from the likes of Google, Amazon, etc. And other trackers. Further they are spoofing cell towers! (Not kidding). They also have all of TSA’s data and scans!
I love your substack and try yo read every one and listen to live stream. I’ve watched your work thru Wylie appearances on MSNBC/MSNOW for years before. But I’m a senior on a very limited/fixed budget. And I also follow other substacks like HCR, Tim Snyder & Jess Craven. All of your paid subscriptions really add up. $7/month isn’t a lot but when multiplied by 5-7 over a year it’s not doable. Would you consider a senior discount? Just a suggestion. Honestly I’m not sure how much more content my sanity would even allow. But know how much I value your work, even if I’m not able to pay.
Congratulations on your one year Substack anniversary! Here's to many more 🥂. I appreciate your clearly articulated legal insights. While I love your Substack the way it is, the changes all sound good. Thank you Harry!
What I would like to see during interviews is Harry talking a lot less and the interviewee talking a lot more - or at least being given a lot more opportunity to talk.
Your essays & thoughts are great & valued deeply! Thank you!
As a free subscriber, the only "improvement" suggestion worth making is that you always allow free subscribers to respond to your postings. You accept our "likes" so please also continue accepting our postings. Too many of our Substack "posters" take the "like" but demand "Pay-to-Say" that is simply wrong in these times.
Looking forward to more from Talking Feds, Harry. Have to agree with the previous comment -- how in HELL did the FBI get a warrant to seize a county's original election documents when a civil court recently denied that request? And how can we trust that someone in this DOJ will not tamper with that evidence?
Bravo on expanding the written essays. I also loved the Talking Feds roundtables, I do most of my listening while driving or cooking, so the video isn't quite the big draw as it might be for others.
Thank you for doing all you do. You are a never miss for me even it is a couple of days later. As dark as things seem at times your cogent and grounded analysis provides insight and yes even some hope against this autocratic regime. This Fulton County development is extremely alarming and I trust you will help keep us sane through it.

Agreed! Facts, truth and great delivery!

I'm not entirely sure about this, but I *think* Substack is pushing them to do more video. I got that sense from another person I subscribe to.
I'd be interested in knowing if there's some Substack official or unofficial "push" in this direction, and whether there are benefits for going along (or downsides to resisting).

That you for making it available for free, as well - as a homeless person who is trying to stay informed.
Thank you, Harry.

Mandatory daily viewing and superb content - keep at it !!!
Will all of the videos have captioning or transcripts available?
I'd love to be a paid subscriber, but multiple Substacks get expensive when you are on Social Security.
Your essays & thoughts are great & valued deeply! Thank you!

--Happy Longtime Subscriber.
Yes, audio is much more important to me these days, though I like to see Harry and a few others!
